This morning on my way into work I was greeted by a papa duck, standing tall, proudly displaying his colors. He quacked softly, warning me to stay away from the mama duck that was nestled in the weeds sitting on top of her freshly laid eggs. My work is located right next to a canal and ducks are one of the first signs of Spring. It is such a joy to watch and wait patiently for the ducklings to hatch. When they do, their epic journey from the nesting site to the water is one of the most adorable things you have ever seen. Little yellow fuzzballs walking in a row behind mama… gets me every time!
Since the ducks have arrived and today is the first day of Spring, what better time to share some Spring wedding inspiration with you? Spring brings about so many beautiful things as the ice melts from winter and everything begins to turn green. The colors, patterns, and fresh blooms make it easy to find inspiration for your big day!
When I start designing an invitation I love to look for inspiration in the little details. Those little, personal details are what take your invitation from cookie-cutter to OMG this is fabulous! Once you really start looking, you find inspiration everywhere! Your guests may not know the story of these details, but you will always cherish the memories and stories behind them. Today’s inspiration is the the adorable duckling I am patiently waiting on to hatch. Really, how can you resist their soft fluffy down and cute little peeps?
The duckling’s soft down was the biggest inspiration for this wedding invitation suite and vision board. The watercolor on the invitation is light and airy with subtle pops of yellow in the lavender color palette. The brush lettering gives the invitation a fun and whimsical vibe while the kraft envelope provides a bit of rustic contrast, making this perfect for a lovely, romantic spring garden wedding.
I hope you enjoy and are inspired by all Spring has to offer!
